  • Reports to: Executive Director/President
  • Consults with: Executive Director, President, and Admin/Finance Officer (AFO)
  • Supervises: District Coordinator (DC), and Program Assistants (PA)
  • Contract period: Initially for 3 months, renewable after three months.
  • Position based: Central Office, Kathmandu with travel to project location Sindhupalchowk
  • Purpose of the Position: The PC is one of the senior level positions who will manage the project by ensuring consistency with the Youth Initiative’s strategic framework and Annual Work Plan and Budget
Specific duties and responsibilities  

Specific responsibilities are to manage the voter education program in Kathmandu and Sindhupalchowk and implement project activities ensuring a high standard of analysis; synthesis and lessons learning ensuring the outputs are achieved on time and as per the quality standards.

  1. Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and reporting
    1. Participate in the management committee meeting and support the team in making decision and program planning
    2. Prepare monthly, bi monthly program reports and executive project activities as per action plan with ensuring effective implementation of the activities as stipulated in project documents.
    3. Ensure effective implementation of approved and plan activities on time.
    4. Develop and prepare monitoring plan, regularly monitor and review the activities to ensure the activities are in line with achieving expected outputs.
  2. Coordination, communication and representation
    1. Communicate the program related information to the Executive Director/President and management committee, program staffs, field staffs, and external stakeholders as an when necessary.
    2. Communicate with field staffs, district and regional level student and youth organizations, local government authorities, service providers, resource person, consultant, and other stakeholders at program level for the effective delivery of the program activities.
    3. Maintain good relation with beneficiaries mainly with student , teachers and management committee of schools and youth organizations, strategic partners, government authorizes, and stakeholders.
    4. Support Executive Director/President in developing networking with peers, professionals contacts within and outside the organization.
    5. Support to develop communication and networking strategy of Youth Initiative.
    6. Represent Youth Initiative at different level of meetings, workshops, for as and when necessary.
  3. Production and disseminating the experience
    1. Develop visibility material, education, awareness and extension materials, such as project briefs, case studies, lesson learning, for sharing the experience with partners, visitors, stakeholders, beneficiaries and policy makers
    2. Take leadership role to collect information, articles and provide information to YI Quarterly News letter.
    3. Support to prepare baseline information relevant to YI programs
    4. Support M&E unit to conduct baseline survey
  4. Fund raising and program development
    1. Lead fundraising efforts with financial sustainability of the projects in mind. Develop and implement fundraising efforts. Maintain good relationship with the existing donors as well as identify and pursue new donors. Write grant proposals with necessary assistance from the program staffs.
    2. Provide critical role in determining fund raising strategies and donor approaching
    3. Assist Executive director and co workers on developing new programs and proposals
    4. Coordinate with Youth Initiative Annex initiative namely SAMRT CLUB, NYS to develop new programs and fund raising activities.
    5. Compile and maintain YI case studies and other information for fund raising communications
  5. Human resource management and monitoring
    1. Recruit, train and mange Focal Persons(FP), Program Assistant(PA).
    2. Prepare job description of Strategic location coordinator, Program Assistant and appraise their performance
    3. Develop Individual Performance Appraisal (IPA) system and conduct appraisal and review
    4. Provide the regular monitoring to field staffs and make sure the program activities are implemented on time with high quality.
    5. Provide necessary information, materials and guidance to the staffs working under your positions.
  6. Organizational development
    1. Assists in the assessment of the organization's needs, and in the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the performance of staffs, and the organization.
    2. Assist in developing policies, guideline and strategies for the development organization.
  7. Other duties
    1. The PC is responsible to fulfill the requirement of Youth Initiative as assigned by Executive Director/President.
Minimum Qualifications  
  • Masters Degree in management, social science or development related fields with at least 2 years of experience in development projects.
  • Good understanding of political and civic issues in relation to young people.
  • High level skills in project planning, implementation, management and prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong communications, analytical, coordinating and report writing skills.
  • Significant knowledge on Integrity, Honesty and Equality.
  • Significant knowledge about DevelopmentCheck (https://integrityaction.org/devcheck/)
  • A sound track record of designing and delivering programs (trainings, workshops, seminars, conferences, symposiums) for Integrity related and and youth related issues.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team player.
Working Hours  
  • 8 hours per day- 5 days a week.

Admin & Finance Officer


Job description  
  • Job title: Admin & Finance Officer
  • Unit: 1
  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Reports to: Executive Director/ President
  • Consults with: Executive Director/ President, Program Coordinator
  • Contract period: Initially for three months, renewable after three months.
  • Position based: Central Office, Kathmandu.
  • Purpose of the Position: The Admin and finance officer is finance head of the organization who will keep records of financial matters, and help in budgeting part of project.
Specific duties and responsibilities  
  • The Admin and Finance Officer will be responsible for both financial and administrative works of the project and organization (as required).
  • The major financial duties and responsibilities of the officer include accounting, software operation, reporting and documentation, cash flow/fund management, compliance.
  • Administrative duties and responsibilities are to conduct works related to general administration assets management, coordination, procurement function, inventory management, etc
  • Budget Planning of project proposal.
Other duties  
  • The Admin and Finance Officer is responsible to fulfill the requirement of Youth Initiative as assigned by Executive Director/President
Minimum Qualifications  
  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields with at least 2 years of experience in finance department.
  • High level skills in budget planning of project proposal, financial management and prioritizing tasks.
  • Proper knowledge about FAMOS accounting software.
  • Experience coordinating human resources management activities, including application of labor laws, recruitment, and performance appraisal systems.
  • Acquaintance on taxation policy of Nepal is a must.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team player.

Graphic Designer


Job description  
  • Job title: Graphic Designer
  • Unit: 1
  • Job Type: Part Time
  • Reports to: Executive Director/ President
  • Consults with: Executive Director/ President, Program Coordinator
  • Contract period: Initially for three months, renewable after three months.
  • Position based: Central Office, Kathmandu.
  • Purpose of the Position: To be the in house designer and act as first point of contact for the design and production of print items.
Specific duties and responsibilities  
  • Carry out design and typesetting of organization publications, leaflets, flyer, invitations and other documents.
  • Conceptualise new marketing material
  • Support the team with creative content
  • Contribute to website continuous improvement
  • Conceptualise and produce website graphics and other digital content
  • Create Mailchimp email temples
  • Manage related task
  • Design/Produce promotional related material
Minimum Qualifications  
  • Most have strong knowledge Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrators(Flash knowledge will be beneficial)
  • Conceptual understating of HTML, CSS would be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Wordpress would be advantage.
Working Hours  
  • 8 hours per day- 2 days a week
