Youth Initiative along with 16 other UN agencies, INGOs and NGOs celebrated International Youth Day on August 12, 2016 by organizing Futsal Competition between the participating organizations at Chaur Recreational Center at Bansbari. The program was started with a friendly match between the joint representative from Ministry of Youth and Sports and National Youth Council and UN representatives. Mr.Madhab Dhungel, Vice Chairperson from NYC and Mr. Mahendra Poudel, Under Secretary of Ministry of Youth and Sports were also present. Eight members from following organizations participated in the program along with 15 volunteers from Youth Initiative and Restless Development.

200 people participated in the program from 17 organizations and others via presentation in the stalls and demonstration of rainwater harvesting by Best Pani and students of robotics. A face painting and flash mob by Dance4life team also added flavor to the program demonstrating the Youth Power. The program was ended with Restless Development clinching the first prize of the tournament and JCYCN as second team. The prizes were distributed by Anil Gurung, captain of National Male Football team and Anu Lama, captain of National Female Football team jointly.

A leading youth led NGO is an initiative by and for young people, focuses on working in the field of youth empowerment, strengthening of student and youth politics, promotion of civic engagement, democratization and human rights in Nepal Youth initiative to develop to their fullest potential and bring about positive change in the societies they live.
