A National Youth Symposium on SDGs was envisioned with the joint collaboration of Youth Initiative and Restless Development. The event on September 27, 2016 hosted 200+ youth from more than 30 districts in the presence of representative from relevant government officials, non government agencies, bilateral agencies, INGOs, NGOs, young political leaders. The one day symposium was divided into Social &; Political forum. In Social forum, 5 papers were presented in the thematic areas like Youth in Governance, Youth in Livelihood, Constructive role of Youth in Achieving SDGs, Invest on Youth: Harnessing Demographic Dividend and Prospect of GBV in SDGs. Each paper was commented by two experts in the subjects.
The overall event were facilitated and documented to produce a compiled recommendation points. 40 participants were present in each of the presentation to discuss and comment on the paper.
In the second half of the program, political forum was carried out along with young political leaders, representative from National Planning Commission, National Youth Council and Ministry of Youth and Sports. The major resolutions from paper presentations and discussions were shared in the political forum.
